“Trucking company has the balls to sue Amtrak”

“RENO, nev. – A Nevada trucking company has the balls to sue Amtrak and union pacific, claiming that they failed to maintain a safe railroad crossing at the place where one of their drivers crashed into the train last month. He killed 6 people and injured 20 more.  ”The reno gazette reports that in a document filed in the Reno federal court”, John Davis trucking  claims the company did not adequately warn all drivers of oncoming trains.  ”The train was en route from Chicago to San Fran on June 24th”, when driver Lawrence Valli’s 18 wheeler plowed through the gate, and into the train 70 miles east of Reno, Nev.  Then into one of the cars.  Amtrak filed suit against John Davis Trucking,  alleging negligence in training of its truck drivers.  Gonzotrucker

WOW what balls this company has what do you think?

“Diesel prices drop 4th week in a row”, Big oil stealing more of our dollars!!

Big oil stealing more of our dollars

The national retail average fell for the week ending august 22nd.  Dropping 2 1/2 cents to $3.81 a gallon, according to the us department of energies information administration.  The biggest drop was in the central Atlantic region dropping 3.9 cents per gallon.  But the national average was still 85.3 cents higher than 1 year ago.  The record diesel price was 4.76 in July 2008.

What all of this means is it’s getting harder to earn a living being an “owner operator” in the land of the free.  If you’re considering buying a truck you need to think about the fuel prices getting higher each day.  If you’re an owner operator now you need to find creative ways of saving fuel if you want to stay in business.  I have a cheap fuel finder on my blog use it.  “It’s” all a scam from the big oil companies to squeeze every penny out of you.  Still we do nothing about it!!  How about we truckers stop buying fuel for 2 days?  Then we can get their attention.   Every day we lose more owner operators because of high fuel prices. Those men and women are the backbone of our nation.  Without trucks America stops.   August 30th 2011

Trucking Jobs: Truck Driver Shortage A Myth?

Especially over the past couple of years in particular, there has been a great debate over the issue of truck driving jobs and a shortage, in America more than anywhere else. Not only are longtime drivers retiring or quitting their job and going elsewhere to find work, but the low pay and long hours are making many people who would otherwise be interested in a position as a truck driver go somewhere else instead.

For the average person who is trying to work as the breadwinner and make money for their family to survive, it only makes sense they would not be interested in a job if it’s not worth their time.

This is an even bigger issue when you take into consideration the amount of time and effort that goes into the training process just to become a licensed truck driver. You need to complete a detailed program and obtain your commercial driving license before you’re able to apply for and obtain a job as a truck driver. You want to make sure you get paid what you’re worth though, and this crisis is making a lot of people turn away.

Companies in the US are more in need of professional truck drivers now than ever before. Because of the low pay and other issues however, there is a disinterest for most people.

Even in the bad economy, where many people are struggling just to make enough money to get by, people aren’t exactly swayed to take truck driving jobs.

Many people have thought this to be a myth instead of a fact, and that the only reason there is any sort of truck driver shortage is because the trucking companies are not willing to pay the workers what they deserve. Truck drivers make more money in other parts of the world than in the United States, which is the main problem.

There are vacancies in truck driving companies all around the United States. The myth issue is that many people think there is simply a lack of people with the ability to drive a truck professionally, when really it has to do with the low pay rate and other issues. There can be something done about this, which would entice these people to go forward and get a job as a truck driver.

Considered to be the biggest myth in the trucking industry, there is not a shortage of drivers but instead a shortage of pay, which is the real issue here. Some companies don’t even offer benefits, which is another big downfall and a reason there are so many qualified workers who who simply aren’t interested in the available jobs.

Besides that, there are usually poor working conditions and long hours, which, considering how little most of these workers are actually paid, doesn’t make it worth it. It’s not hard to see why so many people have a distaste and aren’t interested in the many trucking jobs which are actually available.

The average truck driver spends the majority of his week out on the road, away from his family and friends. Living out of a truck and traveling around, constantly on the go, which isn’t appealing to most people. When you take all of this into consideration, the truck driving myth becomes clear and it all starts to make sense.

As long as there is not much incentive for truck drivers in the present day, it’s only going to continue. That is why there are so many truck driving companies out there who are taking steps in the right direction, to do what it takes to create interest in the available jobs and bring in potential workers. It will take time, but it’s essential in order to fill these positions.

Currently there are changes being made, and hopefully these will only continue. Whether you’ve been working as a professional trucker for years or this is just something you’ve begun to get interested in, it’s good to know there will hopefully be positive changes in the near future.

“HOW TO BEAT A SPEEDING TICKET”

How To Beat A Speeding Ticket

Everyone want’s to know how to do this?  I’ve beat several in court so i know some secret’s.  I beat one ticket when the officer forgot who i was in court!  I beat another one with Arizona  reasonable, and prudent laws.  Look that law up on google you should know it!  First never admit guilt!!!   If the officer asks you,  do you know the speed limit here?   Answer no sir im not sure.  Never argue try to be normal not out of the ordinary. “Act ignorant”, and scared you might get a warning if he believes you did not know you were speeding.   Remember everything around you!   How many car’s pass, and what colors.  I one time asked the officer, remember the red car that passed us?  He did not remember, so i asked him how can you remember it was me speeding then? I remember the car why didn’t you?  That shook him up, and he started to stutter in front of the judge.  If you get a ticket,  delay the court as long as you can!  Keep getting  continuances as many times as they will let you.  This is very important as the officer will forget the details, or may change his job then you win.  Also request the officer get his radar gun certified, and mention in court that your speedometer is off.  Get the officer on the stand, It’s your right to question him about everything Ask him what was the weather that day, and how many other trucks there were on the road.  This is only my opinion results may vary Ho Ho, always have a lawyer.  Let him do the work for you he will win !  My lawyer out of phoenix wins 75% of the time. These are just some step’s you can take to beat a speeding ticket.  The best way to not get a ticket is,  don’t get caught!  GONZOTRUCKER

Trucker on a plane To Philippines

I’m off to Baguio Philippines for vacation

I’ve been to Philippines before but always to Cebu, and Davao never to Baguio. It’s a town of 300,000 people just 7 hours drive north of Manila Philippines. It’s 5100 ft above sea level so it’s a cooler climate than southern Philippines average weather of 74f during the day and 54 at night. I first went to the Philippines 10 years ago to visit my ex wife’s family deep in the jungle on Mindanao southern Philippines. Her family lives in a small fishing village on the north east coast. At the time i went there I was the first white guy they seen in over 10 years so I was looked at like an oddity. I rode a bus 4 hours through the jungle then a motorcycle 30 minutes to her village. When we left to go back to Davao the big city they had a road checkpoint run by the army jungle militia. They stopped my bus to check for bombs they made all the men get off (only white guy) I was shitting my pants because I did not understand what was going on until someone explained to me. I kept looking at the men with guns, and the jungle thinking i might have to flee. But it was alright just a safety precaution. That part of the Philippines is a little dangerous but no more than the ghetto of any major city in the USA.

After that trip I started going to Cebu, Philippines much safer tourist area. Over the last 10 years i made a lot of Filipino friends here, and there. I love their beautiful country the ocean, food, way of life. They live a laid back lifestyle there never in a rush like here. It is a third world country, and very poor so everything there is really cheap. Even cheaper than Mexico. They use peso like Mexico in comparison Mexican peso is 12 to 1 us dollar Philippines peso 43 to 1 usd. So you can live a comfortable life there on less than $1000 USD. My plan is to retire there someday so that is why im going to Baguio a place in the Philippines i never been im exploring the whole country to find a retirement home. For $10,000 usd cash money you can buy a nice little house there close to the ocean. Unlike other countries south of us!! The Philippines start teaching English as a second language in grade school so 90% speak fluent English there. I’ve also never had a problem with crime there crime rates in comparison are lower than the USA. According to the us state department 250,000 Americans already live there, and I’ve met at least 20 of them. My friend Fred has lived there 15 years, and never had any problems. Then my friend rusty lives on Cebu island for 3 years with no problems.Even my friend bob martin has raised his family there.  I even met a retired teamster living there with his wife for 7 years now.

Driving in the Philippines

My friend in Cebu rusty calls it combat driving. There is not too many rules of the road from what I can tell just two rules Yield to everything, and everyone then always honk your horn. I asked a taxi driver if his brakes, and horn were broken which one would he fix first? He said the horn of course! Here is a link to rusty site http://cebuexperience.com/

The minimum wage in the Philippines is $7 dollars a day for a twelve hour shift with no breaks. So everything there is so cheap, hotel $5 to $30 a night for a decent room. I took a taxi to, and from the airport 2 hours round trip the cost $6 dollars. At McDonalds a meal will cost about 1.25, and yes there is American food, and restaurants there. I even found a Mexican Resturant, and American grocery store.  All the same things we have here they have there. I like to go to the malls there because the girls of course, but they have big malls just like here. There is so much more i can write about but i have to go to the airport now so keep checking back for videos, and news articles of my trip. If ever you wish to go there with me just shoot me an email or comment here. Thanks friends stay safe keep the shiny side up, and bears off your ass.
